On Wednesday, Dec. 13, Pettis County announced it had been awarded $266,120 through a Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant by the Department of Transportation. This award will be used by the County to develop a comprehensive safety action plan.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, at 4:50 p.m. Nov. 4, Zachary K. Monath, 39, of Sedalia, was riding a 1994 Harley-Davidson Softail east on U.S. Highway 50 when he struck a patch of standing water in the roadway, skidded off the right side of the roadway, and was ejected.
