Pettis crash injures three

Three people were injured, one seriously, in a Pettis County accident at 6:44 a.m. Monday.

Monica Loredo, 25, of Olathe, Kansas, was driving west on Radio Hill Road when she pulled into the path of a northbound vehicle on U.S. Route 65, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Loredo was wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries in the collision. She received treatment at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

The driver and passenger of the northbound vehicle, both from Sedalia, were also hurt. Michael C. Hanlon, 43, wasn’t wearing a seat belt while driving the car and sustained moderate injuries. Melanie M. Schmolzi, 26, was wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries. Both received treatment at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Man injured in DWI crash

A man was injured and charged with a DWI after crashing his vehicle at 3:55 p.m. Monday in Henry County.

Marvin L. Hills, 78, of Deepwater, was southbound on state Route 7 when he failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the road at Route U, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Hills was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. Before releasing him for medical treatment, troopers arrested him on charges of felony driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and not having insurance.

The Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District took Hills to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.
