This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 9

11:39 p.m.: Steven Wayne Hassler, 49, of the 1500 block of 12th Street, was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by an individual known to have a revoked driving status. Hassler was transported to the Pettis County Jail for felony driving with a revoked license.

11:55 p.m.: Leonel Contreras Antonio, 35, of the 400 block of North Saline Street, was arrested after a traffic stop near West Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue. Antonio had no driver's license or insurance and was transported to the police department and released with a summons.

Feb. 10

12:19 a.m.: James F. Bailey, 26, of the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a domestic assault. They spoke with the reporting party, who said a man known to her assaulted her. Bailey was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a third-degree domestic assault charge.

Feb. 11

12:18 a.m.: Lomond Keith Johnson, 55, of the 3700 block of South New York Avenue, was arrested after officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a lane violation. The driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The subject drove into a drainage ditch near East 15th Street and South Wagner Avenue. Johnson was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of felony driving while intoxicated, felony resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license.

3:38 a.m.: Joseph Elmer Fore, 41, of the 500 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance. They found a subject yelling outside, causing a disturbance in the neighborhood. He was highly intoxicated and was advised multiple times to stop yelling. He refused and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 12-hour hold pending a state charge of disturbance of the peace.

9:34 p.m.: Carmen Saray Funez Bustillo, 37, of the 1300 block of East 14th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop in the 2500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for failing to maintain a lane. Bustillo had no driver's license and could not produce insurance. She was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and released with a summons.

Incidents

Feb. 9

11:35 a.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of South Harrison Avenue for a hit-and-run vehicle accident. The victim said he was driving north in the area of North Sneed Avenue and West 20th Street when he was sideswiped by another vehicle. The striking vehicle fled without leaving information.

8:52 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Deseret Drive in reference to a disturbance. When they arrived, it was determined the subject had assaulted the victim after inflicting self-harm. The suspect was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment of his injuries. A request for a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Feb. 11

8:00 p.m.: Deputies took a report for a stolen motor vehicle in the 1200 block of Woods Drive.

Arrests

Feb. 10

12:13 a.m.: William W. Lawson, 27, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and a lane violation. He was transported to the Henry County Sheriff's Department and released.

1:15 a.m.: Carter I. Knoernschild, 21, of Green Ridge, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and released.

1:46 a.m.: David A. Leonard, 44, of Deepwater, was arrested in Henry County for a Barton County Sheriff's Department felony warrant, a Henry County Sheriff's Department misdemeanor warrant, a Clinton Police Department misdemeanor warrant, driving with a revoked license, felony possession of a controlled substance, felony resisting arrest, felony fleeing, felony possession of a firearm, driving while intoxicated - drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Henry County Sheriff's Department and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Feb. 11

12:33 p.m.: Joshua J. Webb, 30, of Boonville, was arrested in Morgan County for felony driving with a revoked license - third or subsequent offense. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

2:12 a.m.: Galen B. Bennett, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - drugs. He was released.

5:39 p.m.: Carlos M. Arriaga Rivas, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
