This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
2:18 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a fraud report that occurred in the 1000 block of East Ninth Street. The victim said a scammer posing as a representative from Evergy charged her for a fake energy bill.
5:59 p.m.: Officers took a theft report in the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard. The reporting party said his Nike tennis shoes were stolen from his apartment. No charges have been submitted at this time.
6:39 p.m.: Officers responded to West Fourth Street near South Vermont Avenue regarding a previous assault in the 400 block of North Engineer Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital to be screened by medical personnel but did not wish to prosecute the person alleged to have assaulted him. A report was completed to document the incident.
