This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 7

9:45 a.m. Daniel Jeremiah Barton, 38, of the 1300 block of Osage Avenue, was arrested after an officer responded to a church in the 200 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a subject who refused to leave and threatened someone. Barton left the scene before the officer’s arrival but was located and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he assaulted a corrections officer. A request for charges was submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor’s Office. Barton is being held for 24 hours pending charges of third-degree assault, harassment to frighten or disturb another person, and second-degree trespassing.

Incidents

Feb. 4

1:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of East Fourth Street in reference to a hit-and-run crash. The suspect vehicle reportedly left the scene, returned and left again.

Feb. 8

12:56 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue for a report of damage to a property. They interviewed the victims and gathered information for a report.

Arrests

Feb. 7

4:18 p.m.: Joshua B. Masten, 22, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - drugs and expired registration. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

7:10 p.m.: Brianna N. Williams, 30, of Warsaw, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.
