Intoxicated driver seriously injured in Johnson County accident

Robert Yount, 39, of Kansas City Suffered serious injuries at 12:10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Yount was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Spark West on U.S. Route 50 west of Missouri Highway 131 when he traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, made a sharp U-turn in the westbound lanes, went off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in the median.

Yount was not wearing a seat belt, and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt, no insurance, and careless and imprudent driving

Versailles man hurt in Morgan County collision

Clifford R. Hazel, 45, of Versailles suffered minor injuries at 9:25 a.m. Friday Sept. 6, in a Morgan County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2007 Chevrolet truck Tahoe driven by Clarence D. Prior, 66, Versailles west on MO 52, near Church Road, was waiting to make a left turn when Hazel's 2006 Nissan Altima failed to slow and struck the rear of the Tahoe.

Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, Hazel was transported by Mid-MO Ambulance District to Capital Regional Hospital in Jefferson City.

Warrensburg bicyclist in serious condition after being hit by truck

Marcus M. Morgan, 55, of Warrensburg suffered serious injuries at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Morgan was riding a bicycle east on Route OO when he was hit by a 2023 Ford F-550 driven by Larry G. Matthews, 80, of Warrensburg, who was driving east.

Morgan was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Nine-year-old girl injured, impaired driver hurt in accident

Thurman K. Swift, 36, of Odessa suffered minor injuries and a nine-year-old female from Warrensburg suffered moderate injuries at 4:03 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Swift was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe North on Route Z near Northwest 900 Road when he traveled off the roadway and struck a concrete culvert.

The child was wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City by Johnson County Ambulance District.

Swift was not wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by ambulance. He was arrested for felony endangerment of a child, driving while intoxicated, and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash.

Two from Warrensburg hurt after four-wheeler accident

Davis A. Fairly 34, of Warrensburg sustained moderate injuries and James R. Farley, 34, of Warrensburg sustained serious injuries at 3:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Farley was driving a 2023 C-Force 1100 four wheeler west on SW 600 Road when he lost control of the vehicle, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a fence post, causing both occupants to be ejected.

Neither occupant was wearing a helmet, they were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by Johnson County Ambulance District

Sedalia woman hurt hitting cow in Saline County

Katie Williams, 24, of Sedalia suffered minor injuries at 10:32 p.m. Sunday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Williams was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Trax south on U.S. Route 65 when she hit a cow and left the roadway.

Williams was wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
