Chilhowee driver seriously injured in Johnson County mishap

Sirenity M. Laredo, 23, of Chilhowee, suffered serious injuries at 9:43 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Laredo was driving a 2008 Jeep Patriot west on State Route F when she traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Laredo was wearing a seat belt, and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Smithton pedestrian injured in Pettis County accident

Chella B. Washburn, 25, of Smithton, suffered moderate injuries at 5:23 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Terry Wetzig, 66, of McGirk was driving a 2000 Ford Explorer west at South Walnut Avenue and Washington Street in Smithton when he made a left turn and struck the pedestrian. Washburn was transported to MU by EMS.

Colorado trucker injured in Saline County accident

Hassan Orzuzoda, 28, of Denver, Colorado, suffered moderate injuries at 6:05 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in a  Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Orzuzoda was driving a 2025 Freightliner tractor trailer west on I-70 when he traveled off the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt, he was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
