James T. Hatchell, 55, of Slater suffered serious injuries at 8:03 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in a Saline County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report Hatchell was driving a 2009 Shanghai Shenke scooter south on Highway O at West Jenkins Street when he lost control of the vehicle, overturned and was ejected.
Hatchell was exempt from wearing a helmet and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by air ambulance.
