Sedalia man seriously injured in Pettis County crash

Charles M. Lawson, 62, of Sedalia suffered serious injuries at 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban driven by David V. Cosurco, 21, of Hughesville south on U.S. Route 65 at Rebar Road failed to stop at a red light and struck Lawson's 1991 Chevrolet Suburban which was northbound. After the impact the Suburban traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a light pole.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Lawson was transported to Bothwell Hospital by Pettis County Ambulance District.

Tennessee trucker seriously injured in I-70 accident

Ronnie A. Heaton, 49, of Elizabethton, TN suffered serious injuries at 9:09 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Heaton was driving at 2022 Kenworth west on Interstate 70 at the 84.6 mile marker when he traveled off the right side of the roadway through a ditch, returned to the roadway and overturned onto its right side.

Heaton was not wearing a seat belt and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.
