Fingland Birthday

Posted

Nadine Fingland will celebrate her 100th birthday with a family celebration in the month of July. She was born July 31, 1924, to Carl and Pearl Speiser.

She married the late Robert Fingland on May 29, 1947.

During World War II Nadine worked at Whiteman Air Force Base and after marriage, she assisted her husband at Fingland Glass by delivering glass around the state. They attended Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church where she organized volunteers and sang in the choir. She was president of a local Garden Club and a long time Girl Scout leader.

Nadine helped organize many class reunions for the class of 1942. She picked up her saxophone again at age 86 and played with the Sedalia Concert Band. Most mornings you could find Nadine at Papa Jake's donut shop having coffee with the "liar's club." In the last three years, she moved to Meramec Bluffs Care Center in Ballwin.

Nadine has three children, Sherry (Steve) Carr, of Bloomington Minnesota, Judy (Richard) Larson, of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Robert (Beckie) Fingland Jr., of Wildwood.

Birthday cards may be sent to Nadine Fingland in care of Meramec Bluffs LSS; 50 Meramec Trail Drive, Room #350; Ballwin, Mo. 63021
