This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 6

11:03 a.m.: Teresa A. Estes, 53, of the 2900 block of Keith Allen Drive, was arrested after officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic assault. After a verbal argument, Estes grabbed a man by the hair and began hitting him in the face with a closed fist. She then picked up a wooden handle about 4 feet long and hit the man with it. She went back into her home and called 911. Estes was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree domestic assault.

2:44 p.m.: Lateesha S. Woodcuff, 36, of the 200 block of Scott Joplin Court, was issued a summons after officers were dispatched in reference to an assault. An argument was started over a parking spot and one of the parties accused the other of assaulting them. A court summons was issued to Woodcuff for the assault.

10:40 p.m.: Reggie Townsend, 60, of the 400 block of East Jackson Street, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop at West Third Street and South Kentucky Avenue. Townsend had a suspended driving status and was issued a municipal citation.

May 7

7:35 a.m.: Thomas J. Sprinkle, 36, of the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard, was arrested after officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Green Ridge Road and Snyder Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving while revoked and released with a city summons.

Incidents

May 5

3:11 a.m.: Officers assisted Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deputies with an assault that occurred within the city limits. The reporting party stated while he was driving through Sedalia, a vehicle pulled up next to him near West Broadway Boulevard and Granny Lane and threw a water bottle at him. The suspect has been issued a city summons for assault.

10:09 a.m.: A female from the 1300 block of South Arlington Avenue came to the lobby of the police department to report she was the victim of a theft. A report was completed.

5:49 p.m.: An officer spoke with a party stating an individual stole items from her residence in the 900 block of West Fourth Street. No suspects have been identified.

9:36 p.m.: Officers made contact at a residence in the 1400 block of South Prospect Avenue regarding a verbal disturbance. Arrangements were made to separate those involved. However, due to the high intoxication levels of one of the parties involved, officers returned to the residence multiple times because of complaints of peace disturbance and property damage. Charges are being sent to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office regarding the criminal behavior.

11:42 a.m.: Two females entered the lobby of the police department to report a stolen gun. The gun was entered as stolen and a report was completed.

May 6

12:52 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Arlington Avenue in reference to a domestic assault. The victim stated a man known to her assaulted her and left prior to law enforcement’s arrival.

May 7

1:32 a.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive in reference to a subject overdosing. They administered Narcan and CPR while keeping him alive. The subject was then treated by Pettis County Ambulance District personnel and transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for further treatment.

3 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Second Street in reference to an abduction. The witness said their friend was abducted by a man known to her. The suspect and victim were located, and both denied that she was abducted.

6:19 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Missouri Avenue in reference to a theft report. The reporting party stated that her bicycle had been stolen. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Arrests

May 5

7:03 p.m.: Angela K. Frye, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - drugs - prior offender, following too closely, failure to signal and a lane violation. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

8:06 p.m.: Deirdre F. Hlinak, 41, of St. Ann, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash. She was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
