The nominees to be honored in the Missouri State Fair’s Military Flag Retreat Ceremony have been selected.
A total of 11 veterans and active duty service members from Missouri were chosen from nominations across the state for this special honor. The ceremony will take place daily in front of the Missouri State Fair Administration Building.
All ceremonies take place at 5:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. The following individuals will be honored this year at the Fair:
Aug. 11 at 5:15 p.m.: Alicia Barlor of Richland (Army)
Aug. 12: Robert P. Westfall, Jr. (Army) of Maryville
Aug. 13: Roy Sims (Marine Corps) of Marshall
Aug. 14: John D. Hopson (Army) of Columbia
Aug. 15: Robert Norton (Navy) of Lincoln
Aug. 16: Ross Chambers (Army) of Warrensburg
Aug. 17: Jim Heitmeyer (Air Force) of Carrollton
Aug. 18: Randy Smith (Air Force) of Smithton
Aug. 19: Charles “Dean” Rhine (Army) of Rocheport
Aug. 20: Glen M. Brock (Army) of Norborne
Aug. 21: Justin Moreland (Marine Corps) of Rich Hill
