Warsaw teen hurt in Benton County accident

Grace E. Drake, 18, of Warsaw, suffered minor injuries at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, June 20 in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Drake was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima east on Poor boy Road, east of Pompano Lane, when she traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Drake was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Golden Valley ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

Houstonia teen killed in Pettis accident

A 14-year-old Houstonia girl died after being injured at 12:55 a.m. Friday, June 21 in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the teen was driving a 2012 Ford Fusion south on Highway K at McCubbin Road when she traveled off the left side of the road, striking a culvert.

It is unknown if the driver was wearing a seat belt. She was transported by Life Flight to University Hospital in Columbia, where she was pronounced deceased by Dr. Micha Anchetta.

Two injured in Saline County crash

Jacob D. Evans, 34, of Bates City, and Julia A. Malter, 64, of Malta Bend, suffered moderate injuries at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, June 20 in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Evans was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier north on Route 127 when he struck a southbound 2020 Ford Edge driven by Malter head-on.

Evans, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Life Flight to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Malter, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported by air ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
