Due to the weather forecast, Sedalia Parks & Recreation will have to postpone its July 4th celebration to Friday, July 5.
This decision was not made easily. To help put this celebration together, everyone works alongside several other departments such as the Sedalia Police Department, Sedalia Fire Department, and the Public Works Department to make sure the events are safe and a success.
While Parks & Rec are saddened to not celebrate on July 4th, it hopes that everyone can still celebrate with on Friday, July 5th. The schedule of events is as follows:
· Firecracker Mile: 7 a.m check-in; 8 a.m the run begins
· Parade in Downtown Sedalia: 10 a.m.
· Picnic in the Park: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
· Star Spangled Swimming at Liberty Pool: Half-price swimming and free for military and veterans
· Fireworks: 9:30 p.m. at the Missouri State Fairgrounds to finish the night
