This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 15

5:13 p.m.: Brennah D. Bower, 35, of the 1800 block of South Beacon Avenue, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for stealing. On June 17, an officer responded to a business for a report of a theft that occurred June 15. The officer met with an Asset Protection employee, who said he confronted a subject who was placing merchandise in a backpack. The employee said the subject walked out of the store with about $222 worth of merchandise. The employee was able to get photos of the suspect and suspect vehicle. The suspect was later located and arrested.

June 29

6:42 p.m.: Kristi Elizabeth Tittsworth, 30, of the 1700 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for stealing. An officer responded to a business for a report of a theft that occurred the day before. The officer met with an Asset Protection employee, who said a subject came in, selected an item from the shelf, and walked to the front of the store to return it without purchasing it. The suspect was later located, arrested, and taken to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released.

June 30

9:28 a.m.: Mark T. Prall, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 400 block of West Pettis Street for second-degree property damage. An officer was dispatched to a business in reference to a property damage report. A Community Cafe patron cut the internet cables to the cafe.

3:43 p.m.: Kipter Dinney, 30, of Knob Noster, was arrested near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Marvin Avenue for driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle without a valid license, careless driving, and speeding. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle exceeding the speed limit. The driver attempted to evade the officer by leaving the roadway and driving through yards but eventually came to a stop. The driver was found to be unlicensed and intoxicated. He was arrested and treated at Bothwell Regional Health Center before being placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

July 1

7:25 p.m.: Jasmina Ilnitskaya, 20, of Kalispell, Montana, was arrested in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard for driving with a revoked license. An officer conducted a traffic stop. A check with dispatch showed the driver had a revoked license. She was arrested, taken to the SPD, and released with a municipal summons.

8:16 p.m.: Michael Torres Alejo, 23, of the 1500 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Moniteau Avenue for driving while intoxicated-alcohol, driving with a suspended/revoked license, careless driving, speeding, and four failure to appear warrants. An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on West Broadway Boulevard. As the officer attempted to catch up, the vehicle was weaving through traffic. During the traffic stop investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated and had four warrants from Pettis County and Sedalia. The subject was arrested and gave a breath sample that showed his BAC above .08. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.

11:47 p.m.: Salvador Torress, 20, of Neosho, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Missouri Avenue for operating a vehicle without a valid license and resisting arrest. An officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop for making improper turns and not properly displaying registration plates near West Broadway Boulevard and South Warren Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop and a low-speed pursuit ensued. The vehicle finally stopped at Seventh and Missouri. It was discovered the driver did not have a valid license. He was arrested, taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

July 2

10:06 p.m.: Jeffrey Robert Stoney, 41, was arrested in the 700 block of East 14th Street for third-degree domestic assault. Officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance. Information was given that the suspect had assaulted a subject at the residence. The suspect left the residence but was contacted a short time later. After further investigation, the suspect was arrested, taken to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges.

Incidents

June 26

4:45 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. A manager reported that on June 23, a set of keys was discovered to be missing. Security camera footage shows a suspect taking the keys and leaving the store. The suspect was identified and charges of theft are being submitted.

June 27

2:40 p.m.: A man went to the SPD to report his checks had been stolen and are being written out and cashed.

4:32 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a property damage report in the 700 block of West Third Street. The suspect broke a glass pane on a storm door before leaving prior to law enforcement’s arrival. Charges for property damage are being referred to the city prosecutor.

June 30

1 p.m.: An officer met with a victim in the SPD lobby who reported someone stole cash out of his wallet around 9:30 p.m. June 26 while he was at a business in the 100 block of West Third Street.

July 1

12:14 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a male subject masturbating in the parking lot. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated an employee saw a man masturbating in his vehicle. The suspect fled the scene and has not been identified.

1:40 p.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of Ivy Lane in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim reported a man known to them showed up demanding their driver’s license. When the victim refused, the man grabbed them by the hair and throat. The suspect ripped his hand away, leaving a deep scratch on the victim’s throat. The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

1:54 p.m.: An officer responded to the 800 block of East 13th Street for property damage. The victim reported that when he came home, he found his TV, valued at $2,000, tipped over and broken.

4:32 p.m.: An officer responded to the intersection of South Limit Avenue and West 18th Street for a hit-and-run accident. The officer met with the victim, who said she was northbound on Limit near the intersection when a black Chevrolet pickup exited a private lot and struck the passenger side of her vehicle, causing damage. The Chevrolet’s driver said “sorry” and left the scene without providing information. The suspect has not been identified.

July 2

1:21 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1100 block of East 11th Street for an overdose report. Officers located a male lying on the floor and unresponsive. The officers administered Narcan and first responders started medical treatment. The man was taken by the Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

7:24 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Osage Avenue for a disturbance with a weapon. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who said their neighbor threatened them with a knife. The suspect has been identified and charges have been requested.

Arrests

July 1

3 p.m.: Jessica D. Husky, 42, of Knob Noster, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated-drugs, window tint, and a Morgan County warrant. She was taken to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department with no bond.

11:49 p.m.: Ivy S. Dority, 28, of Warsaw, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, failure to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle, and no insurance. She was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

11:57 p.m.: Isabelle L. Dobelbower, 70, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway. She was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

July 2

2:30 a.m.: Danielle M. McKinney, 36, of Russellville, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. She was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
