Bothwell recognizes employees for service

Posted

Bothwell Regional Health Center recently hosted a luncheon to recognize its employees who reached career milestones in 2023 and announce its 2023 Employee of the Year.

Support staff, nurses, advanced practice providers and physicians were honored for their years of service to the organization and 12 employee of the month recipients were recognized.

Members of the Bothwell Board of Trustees presented employees with service pins and certificates. CEO Lori Wightman said she was honored to celebrate those who have helped shape the organization.

“Bothwell Regional Health Center would not be what it is today without the commitment and hard work of the employees we recognized,” Wightman said. “On behalf of the board and everyone who works and cares for patients, I am deeply appreciative of their service to our patients, their coworkers and to Bothwell.”

Employees were recognized for reaching service milestones beginning at five years to 50.

Christa Swank named Bothwell's 2023 Employee of the Year

In its Employee of the Month program, Bothwell Regional Health Center recognizes employees for their excellence in supporting its commitment to exceptional, quality care and demonstrating the Four Key Basics: safety, courtesy, professionalism and efficiency. Christina Swank, December 2023 Employee of the Month, was named the 2023 Employee of the Year at the health center’s recent annual employee recognition luncheon.

Swank, RN, Emergency Department charge nurse, was nominated by Dr. Daren Olmsted, Emergency Department physician, for her skillful and fast-acting patient care. In the nomination, Olmsted described Swank as “an ED hero” when a patient came to the ED with a traumatic hand injury. Swank provided care that prevented the need to transfer the patient to another facility for higher-level care.

“Christina did an excellent job caring for a trauma patient who had cut his hand with a chainsaw,” Olmsted said. “It was time critical to remove the patient's ring from his finger. The patient said we could never cut the ring due to its thickness and material composition. Christina was skillful, patient and methodical and saved the day.”

The 2023 Employees of the Month were recognized at the luncheon and honored for their achievements. Monthly awardees were Shirley Schlobohm, January; Melissa Dillon, February; Debra Williams, March; Jessica Moon, April; Lori Gano, May; Alexander Hoff, June; Megan Stamps, July; Victorie Hoover, August; Shelby Osburn, September; Rob Wideman, October; Ann Martin, November; and Christina Swank, December.
