Posted

Ryan Pummill became President and co-owner of RAC-JAC, Inc, on Oct. 1, marking a new chapter for the company.

The Democrat was informed of the move Thursday, Oct. 17.

Pummill steps into this leadership role alongside Russell Childers, the owner and CEO. Both share a deep passion for the local community and have a vision to have a lasting positive impact.

“As co-owner, my focus is on ensuring our company remains a leader in the industry by prioritizing efficiency, innovation, and client satisfaction. I'm committed to driving strategic growth while maintaining the high standards that have defined our success,” Pummill said.

Pummill, a Sedalia native and Smith-Cotton High School graduate, served 22 years in the U.S. Army, including a decade in Special Operations.

As a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot and Warrant Officer, he completed 27 combat tours and earned multiple awards for valor, including two Distinguished Flying Crosses and a Purple Heart. He holds a degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Throughout his military career, he successfully managed several rental properties and investments across multiple states. In the final year of his service, he took the opportunity to intern with an investor in Tennessee, where he gained valuable experience overseeing the management of four self-storage facilities, totaling approximately 4,000 units.

Childers, a lifelong family friend and trusted mentor, provided invaluable guidance and support to Pummill throughout his military service, helping to shape his personal and professional growth.

In 2022, Pummill began investing in commercial properties in Missouri, leading to a move back from Tennessee in 2023. He and Childers partnered on deals across Sedalia, Warsaw, and the Tightwad/Clinton area, with plans for Pummill to come into a lead role for RAC-JAC.

“Together, we are committed to taking RAC-JAC to new heights, continuing to lead with excellence and delivering exciting new opportunities and improvements for the future,” Childers said. “We are ready to embrace opportunities to foster growth and development within the community we call home.”
