Warrensburg man drowns in Henry County mowing mishap

Brent L. Carroll, 20, was killed at 2:40 p.m. Friday in Henry County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Carroll was driving a Bad Boy lawn mower near NE 595 Private Road in performance of work duties and was operating at the highest point of an embankment when the vehicle lost traction and slid sideways down the embankment towards the pond. The vehicle's wheel dug into the ground at the edge of the bank causing the vehicle to overturn onto its top.

Carroll was pinned underneath the surface of the water and was pronounced dead on scene by paramedic Dustin Dodson. He was transported to Bradley Funeral Home.

Calhoun man hurt in Benton County accident

Michael W. Carr, 27, of Calhoun, suffered minor injuries at 9:10 a.m. Friday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Carr was driving a 2017 Dodge Charger north on state Route M when he ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected, ran off the roadway again and overturned.

He was reportedly wearing a seat belt, and was transported to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton by Warsaw EMS.

Two injured after striking pontoon boat in roadway

Tyler D. Mead, 18, of Clinton, suffered minor injuries, Sean D. Weaver, 26, of Olathe, Kansas, suffered moderate injuries, and Moe L. Naing, 28, of Olathe, suffered moderate injuries at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Stephen C. Parker, 31 of Clinton, was moving north on state Highway 7, and lost a pontoon boat he was towing in the roadway following a previous crash in which Parker fled the scene.

A 2016 Kia Soul driven by Naing, moving north observed the Pontoon in the roadway and began to skid. A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu and driven by Mead also began to skid and struck the Kia. Both impacted the pontoon boat.

Mead, who was wearing a seatbelt, sought his own treatment. Weaver and Naing, who were also wearing seat belts, were transported by Warsaw Lincoln EMS to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton.

Clinton driver killed in Henry County accident

Steven F. Albin, 67, of Clinton was killed at 11:20 a.m. Friday Saturday in Henry County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Albin was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix north on state Route U when he ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and a culvert then overturned.

It is unknown if Albin was wearing a seat belt, he was pronounced dead by paramedic Brittany Davis and transported to Vansant Mills Funeral Home.
