Arrests

Aug. 15

9:15 a.m.: Gary Gene Brown Jr, 55, of the 1000 block of East Fourth Street was arrested after detectives with the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a search warrant. Methamphetamine, stolen items, and drug packaging supplies were located. Brown was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail pending charges of delivery - manufacture of a controlled substance, drug possession, stealing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:28 p.m.: Veronica Rafael, 45, of the 1000 block of West Third Street was arrested after an investigative traffic stop at Second Street and Ohio Avenue. The driver did not have a valid license and Rafael was placed under transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released.

5:35 p.m.: Rigoberto Elliot Rome Torres-Mejia, 18, of the 400 block of South Park Avenue was arrested after a call came in from Fifth Street and Park Avenue regarding an animal in a vehicle. The animal was located and the owner of the animal came out and let the animal out of the vehicle. He was given a City summons for animal abuse and released on scene.

6:39 p.m.: Roger Wayne Linsdey Sr, 60, of the 600 block of 16th Street was arrested after a traffic stop for a vehicle being driven by a subject known to have a suspended driver's license near South Montgomery Avenue and East Fourth street. The driver's identity was confirmed and he was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while suspended and released.

8:59 p.m.: Demetrius Douglas Brown, 47, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street was arrested after a vehicle stop for improper registration near South New York Avenue and East 11th Street. The driver was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a request for a charge of DWI - drugs.

Aug. 16

12:18 a.m.: Santana Raine Brookman, 32, of Columbia was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop near South Limit Avenue and West Main Street for speeding. Brookman was intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department where she provided a breath sample, was fingerprinted and issued a uniform traffic ticket for DWI. She was released to a sober driver.

10:43 p.m.: James Lopez Wright Bennett Sr, 45, of the 1000 block of 10th Street was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle equipment violation near West Broadway Boulevard and South Harrison avenue. Bennett had a suspended license and was arrested, fingerprinted, and released with a charge of driving while suspended.

Aug. 18

2:06 a.m.: Reggae Ervin Townsend, 62, of the 400 block of East Jackson Street was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by a driver with a revoked driving status. His identity was confirmed and Townsend was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of driving while revoked.

2:17 a.m.: Adrian E. Flores, 19, of the 4200 block of West Main Street was arrested after officers were dispatched to a traffic accident on West Saline Street near Albright Court. It was determined Flores was intoxicated and he was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment. A request for a charge of DWI - felony has been submitted to the prosecutor.

Aug. 19

11:20 a.m.: Mario Lopez Mulato, 32, was arrested after a traffic stop near 16th Street and Ohio Avenue on a pickup truck failing to display a registration. The driver had a suspended license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of driving while suspended, failure to register with the Department of Revenue, and no proof of insurance.

Aug. 20

9:21 a.m.: Pedro Angel Rivera Valentin, 61, of the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 200 block of West Third Street for a report of domestic assault. They identified the suspect and determined he was the primary aggressor. Valentin was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of second-degree domestic assault.

8:50 p.m.: Craig M. Allen, 53, of the 100 block of East 11th Street was arrested after officers responded to South Ohio Avenue and East 15th Street for a male subject lying on the side of the road. He was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for safekeeping.

Aug. 21

12:13 a.m.: Rolando Lopez, 37, of the 500 block of South Lafayette Avenue was arrested after an officer responded to an apparent burglary in progress. Police determined the incident was not a burglary but a domestic disturbance. Lopez fled back inside the house and officers forced entry to arrest him. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and held for 24 hours pending charges of third-degree domestic aggravated assault and felony resisting arrest

Incidents

Aug. 9

3:24 p.m.: Officers took a report of theft in the lobby of the police department. The reporting party stated that several pieces of property were stolen from the 1800 block of South Harrison Avenue.

Aug. 19

8:51 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a lost wallet report in the 2500 block of West 16th Street. The owner lost their wallet at the State Fair and was given a report number to get a replacement ID.

8:53 a.m.: A report was taken in the police department lobby regarding a possibly fraudulent situation. Information was gathered for a report but investigation determined no crime had been committed.

6:06 p.m.: Officers responded to a disturbance in the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue. The suspect had already left the scene and charges were submitted to the Pettis County prosecutor's office.

Aug. 20

9:53 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to Menards, 4400 Wisconsin Ave. in reference to a prior theft. The suspect concealed items on their person before leaving.

12:21 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to Casey's, 3050 South Limit Ave. in reference to a subject stealing from the store. The suspect was identified and information was gathered for a report.

11:14 p.m.: An officer spoke with a subject at the police department headquarters in reference to found property. They turned in a Missouri driver's license located in the 3100 block of West 10th Street. The officer attempted to return the property to the owner but was unsuccessful. The ID was placed into evidence as found property.

Incidents

Aug. 18

3:50 p.m.: Pettis County deputies responded to the 300 block of East Mason Street in La Monte for a dog bite. A two year old male was bitten by a dog. He was transported to the hospital by air ambulance for treatment. The dog was seized and is being held for a procedural quarantine.

Aug. 19

11:30 a.m.: A complainant in the 19000 block of Whitfield Road called the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office to report a stolen cell phone.

Aug. 20

12:20 p.m.: Deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for excessive speed on US 65 at Flat Creek. The motorcycle was pursued for several miles but the pursuit was terminated due to unsafe conditions. The investigation continues.

1:54 p.m.: Pettis County Sheriff's Office took a theft report from Casey's General Store in La Monte. The investigation continues.

Arrests

Aug. 19

10:17 p.m.: Anna M. Sterrett, 24, of Windsor was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway. She was transported to the Henry County Jail and released.

2:33 p.m.: Whitney L. Groves, 18, of Sweet Springs was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance. She was transported to the Pettis County jail and released.

10:20 p.m.: Brandi D. Terrell, 49, of Warsaw was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.
