Arrests

July 8

8:59 p.m.: Michael Allen Slack, 54, of the 4900 block of Vernon Road, was arrested after officers responded to a crash at West 16th Street and Thompson Boulevard. Slack was driving while suspended but had no priors so he was issued a city summons and released on scene.

July 10

4:28 a.m.: Lee Woodyard, 45, of the 2000 block of East 15th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for not properly displaying registration plates. He had a suspended driving status and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a request for a charge of driving while suspended.

July 12

8:15 a.m.: Terence Wade Wehlry Jr, 33, of the 3100 block of Oak Grove Circle, was arrested after a traffic stop near Seventh Street and Osage Avenue for failing to display registration. He had a revoked driver's license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending State charges of driving while suspended, failure to register with the Department of Revenue, no proof of insurance and failure to properly affix license plates.

4:40 p.m.: Samantha A. Maya Lozano, 30, of La Monte, was arrested after a crash at West Broadway, east of the Winchester Drive intersection. Lozano was issued city summons for no operating status or valid proof of insurance.

7:46 p.m.: Ronaldo Paau Tec, 40, of the 700 block of Wilkerson Street, was arrested after an investigative traffic stop on a vehicle near South Grand Avenue and West 11th Street. It was confirmed the driver had a suspended driving status and he was issued a uniform traffic ticket.

8:35 p.m.: Antonio Gonzalez Aguirre, 28, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to South Quincy and West Fourth Street for an intoxicated driver that had been in a crash. Aguirre was intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department then the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of DWI alcohol.

6:46 p.m.: Lonnie Nelson, 23, of the 300 block of North Prospect Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for no front plate and an invalid rear license plate on South Park Avenue near West Fourth Street. Nelson had a suspended driving status and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while suspended.

7:21 p.m.: Donald Wayne Harris II, 45, of the 2200 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after a domestic disturbance. One of the parties involved had physical injuries from an incident the day before and had been assaulted again when they called. Harris was transported to the Pettis County Jail and held for 24 hours pending charges of third degree domestic assault and fourth degree domestic assault.

9:44 p.m.: Francisco Salvador, 34, of the 600 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for no front license in the area of Ninth Street and Marvin Avenue. He provided a name which came back not on file and was later identified through a portable fingerprint scanner. A bag containing a crystalline substance was found on the driver's floorboard which field tested positive for methamphetamine. Salvador was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance, identity theft and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

11:03 p.m.: James Lamar Long Jr, 56, of the 600 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for excessively dark window tint near Broadway Boulevard and South Missouri Avenue. Long was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of DWI - persistent offender has been submitted to the prosecutor.

July 13

2:44 a.m.: Pedro Pascual Herrera, 34, of the 1700 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested in reference to a domestic disturbance. The reporting party had obvious injuries and said she had been assaulted by her husband. Officers made contact with Herrera and transported him to the Pettis County Jail for 24-hour hold pending charges of domestic assault.

7:17 p.m.: Daniel Joseph Little, 42, of the 1200 block of Quincy Avenue, was arrested after an officer responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Little was identified as having assaulted two subjects in the residence and violating an order of protection. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and held for 24 hours pending charges of third degree domestic assault and violating an ex parte order of child protection.

July 14

12:15 a.m.: Diego Chavez-Portillo, 31, of the 1000 block of South Garfield Avenue, was arrested after observed walking a bike in a parking lot near East Broadway Boulevard and Emmett Avenue. He was observed swaying and falling over while attempting to stand with the bike. He was highly intoxicated and uncooperative and refused to provide his name and information. Chavez-Portillo was not in a condition to care for himself so he was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit of confinement then the Pettis County Jail for a 12 hour protective custody hold.

1:45 a.m.: Tyler Markham, 31, of the 6000 block of West 32nd Street, was arrested after a motorcycle was observed speeding on East Broadway Boulevard near South Massachusetts Avenue. He accelerated after an attempted traffic stop and was not pursued. Markham crashed at East 14th Street and South Lamine Avenue. He received medical attention and was determined to be intoxicated. Markham was released to Bothwell Regional Health Center for medical treatment. A request for charges of DWI - persistent offender and resisting arrest were submitted to the prosecutor.

6:13 p.m.: Dustin Eugene Galloway, 41, of Higginsville, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a subject check. Galloway was observed on the railroad tracks striking a piece of wood against the tracks. He was in possession of a credit card that did not belong to him and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of trespassing and property damage.

8:19 p.m.: George Edward Buckner Sr, 61, of Sedalia, was arrested after a traffic stop for a violation near North Lamine Avenue and East Pettis Street. Buckner had a revoked driver's license and while being placed under arrest began resisting. He was taken into custody and found to have a controlled substance on his person. Buckner was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be held for 24 hours pending charges of drug possession - synthetic narcotic, felony resisting arrest, tampering with physical evidence and driving while suspended.

July 15

9:50 p.m.: Dustin Eugene Galloway, 41, of Higginsville, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 3000 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a stolen vehicle. The caller said her car had been taken without her permission by an acquaintance. She found it but was unable to locate the keys. Galloway was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of stealing a motor vehicle.

Incidents

July 12

11:46 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to Comfort Inn, 3600 W. Broadway Blvd. for a report of a missing person. Officers investigated the situation and were able to make contact with the reported person who was safe and not in danger.

12:05 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of found property. The caller said several bullets were located behind the business's dumpster. The bullets were collected and placed into found property.

2:46 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a theft report in the 400 block of Thompson Road. The victim said their vehicle was in for repairs and someone stole the license plates.

7:48 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2200 block of South Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

July 13

7:18 p.m.: An officer spoke with a Walmart employee in the lobby of the police department regarding a theft that occurred July 12. The asset protection employees said a man came into the store and had concealed items on his person then left without rendering payment.

Arrests

July 13

11:36 p.m.: Allen Alexander Jr, of Knob Noster, was arrested after Pettis County deputies conducted a traffic stop at U.S. Highway 65 and Duke Drive on a vehicle with no tail lights. Alexander was operating the vehicle without a driver's license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released pending a charge of operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license - third or subsequent offense.

July 14

12:34 a.m.: Leonardo Barrios, 33, of Goodman, was arrested after Pettis County deputies responded to a reported wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 65. He was stopped at U.S. Highway 65 and Westmoreland Road, transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked for three counts endangering the welfare of a child, operating a motor vehicle on a highway without a valid license - first offense, and careless and imprudent driving. Barrios was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges.

Incidents

July 12

6:54 p.m.: Deputies investigated animal neglect in the 1500 block of Crestview Drive. Charges are being requested.

Arrests

July 12

11:26 p.m.: Edilberto R. Quetzecua, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

July 13

1:55 p.m.: David Meza, 50, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failure to drive in the right hand lane. He was transported to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and released.

4:59 p.m.: Clarence E. Gilmore, 56, of Stover, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail.

11:07 p.m.: Shanon Nichols, 38, of Blackburn, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Saline County Sheriff's Office and released.
