July 24

9:33 a.m.: Officers responded to the 4200 block of West Main St. regarding found property. A wallet was discovered nursing utility boxes in the area. The owner of the wallet was not located and the wallet was placed into evidence as found property.

7:59 p.m.: Officers took a theft report from the 400 block of West Morgan St. The victim reported her push lawn mower was stolen within the last 24 hours. information for a report was collected.

Arrests

July 24

9:12 p.m.: Steven Halter and Jamie Fico were arrested after a traffic stop near East 16th St. and South Ohio Ave. on a vehicle with a passenger side defective headlight. Passenger Halter had an active warrant for his arrest out of Pettis County for second-degree domestic assault and as he exited the vehicle a syringe was seen by deputies falling out of his pocket. During a consent search of the vehicle and the driver, Fico, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies noticed she was trying to conceal something when she got into the patrol vehicle. She admitted she had methamphetamine concealed on a person and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for second-degree drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. Halter was transported to jail for his warrant and placed on a 24-hour hold for possession of a controlled substance.

Arrests

July 24

9:43 p.m.: Clay G. Benverton, 24, of Gravois Mills was arrested in Morgan County for not displaying navigation lights and boating while intoxicated. He was released.
