Oct. 8

12:35 p.m.: Christopher William Crouch, 52, was arrested after officers were dispatched to American Inn, 1217 South Limit Ave. in reference to shots fired through a window. Officers found a broken window and were able to gather suspect description from a nearby business. Couch was located at Ninth Street and Warren Avenue and refused to comply with officers and show his hands. After a brief struggle officers and Pettis County deputies were able to take him into custody, Couch is being charged with first-degree property damage and resisting arrest.

Incidents

Oct. 3

8:45 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to Missouri Bank II, 1601 South Limit Ave. for a fraud report. They gathered information and documentation and a report was completed.

Oct. 7

12:06 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Kohl's department store, 4300 Wisconsin Ave. for a report of shoplifting. They gathered information, documentation and photos of the suspect and suspect vehicle for a report.

9:16 p.m.: An officer responded to the 1500 block of South Harrison Avenue for a report of an assault. The victim reported being struck by an object thrown from a passing vehicle. The victim did not sustain injury.

Pettis County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

Oct. 8

1:19 a.m.: Larry Montowine and Michael Priest were arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 17th Street and South Lamine Avenue on a Ford F-150 for a registration violation. A Pettis County K9 was deployed around the vehicle, alerted and a search yielded fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. Montowine and Priest were taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Oct. 8

12:35 a.m.: Steven L. Joy, 34, of Independence was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated, felony driving while revoked and a lane violation. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
