This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 28

6:34 p.m.: Curtis Tolbert Connell Jr., 50, of Eagleville, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a theft in progress. The manager informed officers the suspect was still in the store and a short time later, Connell was detained. He was issued a municipal summons and trespassed from the building.

June 6

10:39 p.m.: Tyler Gene Cummings, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested after being observed riding a bicycle down the middle of South Missouri Avenue with no lights near West 17th Street. Cummings refused to identify himself and was transported to the SPD, fingerprinted, and issued a uniform traffic ticket for not having lights and failure to obey.

Incidents

June 2

11:32 p.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of East 15th Street in reference to a trespassing report. The complainant said a subject had been loitering on her property and left items there. The items were collected and entered into evidence for safekeeping.

June 6

11:47 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of West Main Street in reference to theft. The reporting party said a package was removed from her front porch which contained several items ordered online.

4:13 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a prior burglary in the 500 block of South Barrett Avenue. The suspect broke a glass door pane and made entry into a residence without permission.

June 10

8:41 a.m.: Officers took a report of property damage near the 23000 block of Cherry Tree Lane. The value of the damage was estimated at $200. No suspects have been identified at this time.

10:12 p.m.: An officer spoke with a subject over the phone who had information about a report taken from Pettis County. The officer was able to identify a suspect in the case through some investigation and forwarded the information to Pettis County.

11:17 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Lamine Avenue in reference to gunshots. Officers arrived on scene and located a man in the roadway with a gunshot wound. Medical treatment was provided and he was transported. A suspect has been identified.
