This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 4

11:52 p.m.: Aaron J. Stoner, 40, of the 1400 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested after a driver was contacted near East Saline Street and North Randolph Avenue after he was observed driving on the wrong side of the road and for an investigation of a potential wanted person. Stoner was not the wanted person, however, during an investigation into criminal activity, he attempted to flee. He was apprehended and found in possession of a needle that tested positive for methamphetamine. Stoner also had used needles in a container in the car. A field sobriety test was conducted and determined he was impaired by drugs. Stoner was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of driving while intoxicated-drugs, felony resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

May 31

9:45 p.m.: An employee at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard reported a theft on May 31. The employee said someone skip scanned and switched UPC codes on merchandise valued at $138. A suspect was identified for an investigation.

8:07 p.m.: A vehicle was stopped at East 10th Street and South Ingram Avenue for illegal window tint measuring 13%. A charge of illegal material in the front side windows has been requested for the driver and vehicle owner.

June 4

5:57 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the intersection of West Sixth Street and Dal Whi Mo Court for an abandoned ATV in the roadway. The ATV was taken to the police department to be held as found property. The owner later called to report it stolen, came to the SPD showing evidence of ownership, and the ATV was released back to them.
