This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 8

3:25 p.m.: Michael Dale Kearney Jr., 31, of the 500 block of East 36th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at Southwest Boulevard and Skyline Drive for expired registration. Kearny had a suspended license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released pending charges of driving with a suspended license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to register with the Department of Revenue.

Incidents

May 9

4:16 a.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of East Second Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim said she and a man known to her were in a physical altercation. The man left the scene before the officer's arrival but has been identified and state charges are being requested.

8:38 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Avenue in reference to a property damage report. The victim did not want to pursue charges but said a ricochet from a BB gun hit her vehicle. The suspect said he was shooting at a pigeon and ricochet hit the vehicle. The incident was documented using a general information report.

2:38 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of West 16th Street in reference to an assault. They gathered information for a report. The investigation is ongoing

6:21 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the SPD lobby in reference to a dog bite in the 2300 block of South Ohio Avenue. Both parties were present and enough information was gathered to generate a report.

Arrests

May 9

3:21 p.m.: Salvador Ramos, 40, of Aurora, Colorado, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated-drugs and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine). He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
