Posted

At 7:07 a.m. Thursday, July 11, emergency crews were dispatched to the 500 block of West Broadway Boulevard for an injury crash involving multiple vehicles.

A westbound Peterbuilt flatbed truck hauling large decorative stones, operated by Trace Alberswerth, of Higginsville, left the right side of the roadway and struck a street sign, fiber hardware and a fire hydrant before returning to the roadway. The truck then traveled across several lanes of Broadway Boulevard before entering eastbound traffic and colliding with Ford pickup truck operated by Ethan Jones, of Cadet.

This collision caused heavy damage and forced the Ford to rotate 180 degrees, leave the roadway and come to rest on South Broadway Boulevard.

The Peterbilt continued traveling in a southwest direction where it again left the roadway. The decorative stones became dislodged and were ejected from the flatbed striking a Toyota Camry that was parked on the private lot of 500 W. Broadway Blvd. causing significant damage.

The Peterbilt continued traveling south on private lots before striking a parked Hyundai Elantra at 509 W. Broadway Blvd. causing heavy damage. The truck pushed the Hyundai forward where they both collided with the residence at 509 W. Broadway Blvd. causing significant damage to the structure.

Albertswerth suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia. Jones suffered moderate injuries and was transported by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Health Center.
